Dr Mamdani has worked in the field of public health in several low- and middle-income countries. She has extensive experience in health systems research, focusing on access, equity and quality, with particular attention to practical policy analysis and processes in support of change.
She has taught medical and public health students, and continues to be involved in a range of capacity-building initiatives. Masuma joined the Ifakara Health Institute (Tanzania) in early 2010 as a Chief Research Scientist, with a focus on evidence-based policy analysis.
