RESYST’s co-research director, Professor Kara Hanson, delivered her inaugural lecture at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine with a warm introduction from Professor Dame Anne Mills. Throughout the lecture Kara Hanson:
- reflects on her career and wide ranging experiences over the past thirty years
- examines the socio-economic and regional inequalities in access to effective health interventions
- shows how market interventions have improved access to bednets and antimalarials
- explores how progressive taxation and public/private co-payment models can strengthen health systems
