On 12 December 2014, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), Action for Global Health and The Rockefeller Foundation co-hosted a meeting to mark the first-ever Universal Health Coverage Day. The meeting included speakers from Chatham House, Save the Children, LSHTM, the UK Department for International Development, GlaxoSmithKline, the Community Working Group on Health in Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Health in Rwanda. 

It was opened with a video about Universal Health Coverage from Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization.
