Professor Obinna Onwujekwe is the coordinator of the Health Policy Research Group, and is a Senior Lecturer in the Departments of Health Administration & Management and Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He is also a postdoctoral fellow with the Gates Malaria Partnership (GMP), LSHTM.
Over the past 12 years he has been involved in studies on improving the equitable provision and use of basic health care services; economic burden of different diseases, especially malaria; reliability and validity of contingent valuation methods; and healthcare reform. He has recently been involved in studies concerned with affordability of care, risk protection, and health care financing reform.
He is an adviser to the Ministry of Health on issues concerning health sector reform and health care financing.
