The Health Economics and Systems Analysis (HESA) group, at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK, conducts high quality research in order to improve the knowledge base relating to health system performance in low- and middle-income countries. HESA also works to develop and strengthen collaborations which contribute to health policy and systems research capacity in partner organisations. The group covers a range of disciplines including health economics, policy analysis, public health and epidemiology, clinical medicine, and social science.
Work falls into the following main areas:

Analysis of arrangements for governance, organisation, financing and delivery of health systems and health services

Economic evaluation of health interventions and services, including vaccines, HIV and STDs, malaria, MCH

Development and application of methods for evaluating complex health system interventions
